In this sacred space of warm water, breath, and connection, we dance, let go, and surrender to the flow — melting tension, awakening joy, and returning to the body as a vessel of flowing grace.
We begin by tuning in — arriving through intention, breath, presence, and the subtle activation of the waters within. Then, guided by principles of Watsu, water dance, contact improvisation, and free-form movement, we explore gentle partner work, shared flow, and deep receptivity.
This is a space to soften, play, and be profoundly met — by the water, by others, and by your truest self.
Held in body-temperature water, this journey soothes the nervous system, dissolves resistance, and invites you to embody your natural state of liquid grace.
We close with a floating meditation — supported, held, and deeply relaxing.
No previous experience necessary.
Comfort in water is advised.
Helpful if you have some familiarity with contact dance principles or a willingness to explore connected touch in water.

Malaika MaVeena Darville brings over 30 years of experience in holding sacred spaces for embodiment, connection, and healing. Her love affair with water runs deep — from her early Watsu training at Harbin Hot Springs, to further studies in Aqua Bodywork in Australia, to decades as a scuba diving instructor and free diver. The water has long been her sanctuary, teacher, and muse.
A lifelong dancer and passionate practitioner of Contact Dance — especially in water — Malaika weaves breath, movement, and deep presence into each offering. As a DJ and African dancer, she curates soulful musical journeys that support awakening, intimacy, and play.
With a natural mothering energy, and now stepping into her role as elder and grandmother, Malaika holds a deeply nurturing presence. In her care, you will feel safely held, gently guided, and profoundly seen.

We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time.
If you arrive after the published start time, you may be denied access and your booking will not be refunded.
If this event is canceled by The Yoga Barn prior to the start time, you are eligible for a refund of your ticket. We do not cover reimbursement of any associated booking fees that exceed our published ticket price. Please be aware that refunds may take up to 30 days.
If you are unable to attend this event, you are eligible for a full refund of the ticket price if you contact us at least 24 hours in advance of the published start time. Contact must be made via email to [email protected] or in person at The Yoga Barn reception desk. We are not able to process refunds for any reason if you contact us less than 24 hours prior to the published start time. We do not cover reimbursement of any associated booking fees that exceed our published ticket price.
